‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’s sixth day collection surpasses Shahrukh Khan’s Fans’ lifetime collection
Mahendra Singh Dhoni's biographical film 'M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story' is still going strong at the Box Office. After a good performance at the weekend, the movie entered the weekdays and there were speculations that it might get a lukewarm response. However, so far it has done a commendable job at the Box Office and looking at its performance one can say that it is in line to enter Bollywood's much coveted 100-crore club.
The much-anticipated movie took the Box Office by storm when it left behind the likes of Fan and Houseful 3 in terms of opening day collection and recorded a total of Rs 21.30 crores followed by Rs 20.60 crores on Saturday and 24.10 crores on Sunday. It also did a promising business in overseas too and collected Rs 21.96 crores till Sunday.
The motivational crux of the movie has left the fans awestruck. The plot is very well complimented by the actor especially by Sushant Singh Rajput who is playing Dhoni's character. The actor is receiving huge accolades for his acting and his beautiful portrayal of Dhoni's is one of the biggest reasons for the film's success. Another reason that has contributed to the film's immense success is India's most decorated skipper's popularity across the country.
After an overwhelming response on the weekend, the movie saw a decrease in the attendance after entering the weekdays phase but the collection was still good. On Monday, the biopic collected Rs 8.51 crores. On the following day i.e. on the fifth day, it saw a further decline in its collection and recorded an amount of Rs 7.52 crores including all three versions (Hindi, Tamil & Telugu).
On Wednesday (sixth day), the movie followed the same trend and collected an estimated amount of Rs 6.80 crores*. With this, 6 days total collection of M.S.Dhoni The Untold Story is likely to become 88.83 crores*, which is higher than the lifetime total of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan's Fan (84.10 crores) on domestic box office.
